💨 Abstract
Israeli airstrikes in Gaza Strip on Thursday killed at least 54 Palestinians, including 11 people in a tent encampment and the director general of Gaza's police department. The Israeli military claimed to have targeted Hamas militants. The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees expressed concern, stating that there is no safe zone in Gaza. Hamas' smaller ally Islamic Jihad fired rockets into southern Israel.
