💨 Abstract

Kenyan lawmaker Charles Were, a member of the opposition ODM party, was shot dead by gunmen on motorcycles in Nairobi. The incident occurred around 7:30 pm local time. Were's driver survived the attack. The MP had represented Kasipul constituency in Kenya's west. Were lost to William Ruto in the 2022 elections, with Raila Odinga, the party leader, alleging irregularities.
