đź’¨ Abstract
Measles cases in the European region doubled in 2024, reaching a 25-year high, according to the World Health Organisation and UNICEF. The increase is attributed to a decline in vaccination levels during the COVID-19 pandemic. Children under five accounted for more than 40% of the reported cases. Romania had the highest number of cases, followed by Kazakhstan.
