Transdniestria, a pro-Russian breakaway region of Moldova, is experiencing extended power cuts due to the halt of Russian gas supplies through Ukraine. The gas was used to operate a power plant providing electricity to Transdniestria and much of Moldova. The region's president has extended power cuts to four hours on Sunday and shut down industries except food production.
