💨 Abstract
An American Airlines regional passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter collided mid-air and crashed into the Potomac River near Reagan Washington National Airport. Over 60 people, including passengers on an ice skating team and three soldiers, are feared dead. The crash is the deadliest U.S. air disaster in over a decade. Both aircraft were flying standard flight patterns, and the helicopter crew knew the plane was in the vicinity.
