Daniel Chapo of Mozambique's Frelimo party was sworn in as president amidst protests over his disputed election victory. More than 300 people have reportedly been killed in clashes since the October 9 vote, with the opposition alleging vote-rigging and Western observers deeming the election not free and fair. Frelimo denies electoral fraud and has ruled Mozambique since 1975.
