💨 Abstract
A U.S. Army veteran, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, pledged allegiance to Islamic State and drove a truck into a New Year's Day crowd in New Orleans, killing at least 14 people. Jabbar acted alone, posting five videos on Facebook explaining his support for IS. The attack occurred on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, with two police officers among the injured. An Islamic State flag was found on the truck.
