💨 Abstract
The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) has expressed hope that the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the Japanese organization Nihon Hidankyo will combat growing apathy about nuclear weapons. ICAN won the prize in 2017 for promoting the U.N. Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
