South African Minister for Electricity and Energy Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa stated at the G20 Energy Transitions Working Group meeting in Cape Town that nuclear technology is crucial for a country's energy security. He revealed plans to revive South Africa's mothballed nuclear energy program to ensure energy security, energy sovereignty, and energy justice during the transition to green energy.
