💨 Abstract

A blast in southwestern Pakistan killed seven people, including five school students and a police officer, and injured 23 others. The attack occurred near a school for girls in Mastung and targeted a police van en route to pick up a polio vaccination team. The explosion is part of a surge in militant attacks and a growing separatist insurgency in Pakistan, coinciding with the country's third nationwide polio campaign.
