💨 Abstract
Pakistan's government has promoted Army Chief General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal for his role in a recent conflict with India. The decision was made in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. General Munir is the second soldier in Pakistan's history to receive this rank, and the first since General Ayub Khan in 1959.
