A train traveling from Quetta to Peshawar was hijacked by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in southwest Pakistan, resulting in the death of 21 hostages and 4 security troops. The attack ended when security forces killed all 33 militants, after a day-long standoff. The BLA had threatened to kill hostages if authorities failed to release Baloch political prisoners and missing people.
