💨 Abstract
In Lima, Peru, massive waves up to 13 feet high are causing port closures along the coast, affecting 91 out of 121 ports. Callao, home to the country's largest port, has closed beaches and barred boats from venturing out. The dangerous conditions have damaged several fishing boats and made work impossible for others. The Peruvian navy attributes the waves to winds off the US coast.
