A Chinese maritime militia boat intentionally collided with a Filipino patrol vessel near Thitu island in the South China Sea, according to the Philippines' Bureau of Fisheries. The incident occurred during a routine patrol and resulted in dents on the starboard bow of the Filipino vessel. China and the Philippines have had ongoing disputes over the South China Sea, with Manila accusing China of maintaining a maritime militia and Beijing denying this.
