The Philippines and the United States conducted joint maritime exercises in the South China Sea, marking their fifth collaboration since 2023. This activity, which included the U.S. Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group and the Philippine's Antonio Luna frigate, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and interoperability. The move could provoke China, as it comes at a time when the Philippines has expressed concerns over Chinese coast guard vessels within its maritime zone.
