PM Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met at the ASEAN Summit in Laos, over a year since Trudeau accused India of involvement in the death of a Canadian Khalistani separatist. Trudeau described the meeting as a "brief exchange" and stated that upholding the rule of law is a fundamental responsibility of any Canadian government.
