💨 Abstract
Protesters in the Russian-backed Abkhazia, a Georgian breakaway region, stormed the parliament on Friday, demanding the resignation of its leader over an unpopular investment agreement with Moscow. The agreement was feared to allow wealthy Russians to buy property, pricing out locals. The protesters also broke into the presidential administration offices, with at least nine people hospitalized. The leader, Aslan Bzhania, was not in the complex at the time.
