Indian Foreign Service officer Rajeev Kumar has been appointed as India's next High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea. Currently serving as Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR), Kumar is expected to take up the assignment shortly. India and Papua New Guinea enjoy warm and friendly relations, having opened their respective diplomatic missions in 1996 and 2006.
