đź’¨ Abstract
On New Year's Eve, Russia and Ukraine traded accusations of targeting civilians. Ukraine reported over 200 drone attacks on its energy infrastructure, while Russia accused Ukraine of killing 24 people, including a child, in a drone strike on a hotel in the Russian-controlled Kherson region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged allies to expedite air defense supplies. Russia called the attack a "war crime," while Ukraine denied targeting Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence.
