In the regional election of Brandenburg, the Social Democrats (SPD) emerged victorious but faced a challenging coalition with the leftist Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW). The BSW's demand for urgent Ukraine peace talks and opposition to U.S. long-range weapons in Germany poses difficulties. The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) saw a record high of 29%, further destabilizing Germany's political landscape.
