Russia has lifted visa restrictions for Georgian citizens, allowing them to work in Russia, two weeks before Georgia's parliamentary election. The move is seen as a gesture to the ruling Georgian Dream party, which has taken increasingly anti-Western positions. This follows a comment from the EU's ambassador to Georgia that the bloc might suspend its visa-free regime with Georgia if the election is not free and fair.
