đź’¨ Abstract
Russia will not test a nuclear weapon if the US does not, according to Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. Speculation about Russia resuming nuclear testing has arisen due to the possibility of Ukraine being granted permission to strike deep into Russia with Western missiles. However, Ryabkov clarified that Russia's nuclear test site at Novaya Zemlya is only being prepared for potential resumption in response to the US improving its own testing infrastructure.
