On New Year’s Eve, Russian air defense units intercepted and shot down five Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that specialist crews were examining the drone fragments. There were no reported casualties or damage. Temporary restrictions were imposed on Moscow's Domodedovo airport and other airports in southern and central Russia.
