Russian forces have taken control of the eastern Ukrainian town of Vuhledar, a significant stronghold that had resisted attacks since the start of the 2022 war. The town, which was a population of over 14,000 before the conflict, has been severely damaged. The last Ukrainian forces abandoned the town, according to Russian media and war bloggers, though neither side has officially confirmed this.
