On March 16, 2023, the International Astronomical Union recognized 128 new official moons of Saturn, bringing its total to 274, the most of any planet in the Solar System. These moons were discovered by a team led by Edward Ashton using images from the Canada France Hawaii telescope, as well as during "ring-plane crossings".
