💨 Abstract

During her two-day state visit to Slovakia, President Droupadi Murmu visited the Gate of Freedom Memorial in Bratislava, a tribute to those who died attempting to escape from Slovakia under communist rule. The memorial was erected in 2005 and commemorates the 400 individuals who were killed at the border between 1945 and 1989.
