💨 Abstract
Turkish football club Ankaragucu has protested against the three-year-and-seven-month prison sentence for their former president, Faruk Koca, for assaulting a referee last year. The club claims the verdict was influenced by "misleading public perception". Koca was sentenced for intentionally wounding a public official after punching a referee, fracturing his eye socket, and was also given a suspended sentence for threats and violence in sport.
