💨 Abstract
South Korea's impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol attended a court hearing on Saturday to contest a request to extend his detention on charges of insurrection. Yoon was the first South Korean president to be arrested, following his short-lived martial law declaration on Dec. Investigators sought a detention warrant to extend their custody of Yoon for up to 20 days.
