In Sri Lanka, the Election Commission announced a second preference count in the presidential election as no candidate secured more than 50% of the votes. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, leader of the National People’s Power, was leading with 49.8% votes, followed by Sajith Premadasa and incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
