💨 Abstract

Taiwan aims to buy an additional $200 billion worth of goods from the U.S. over the next decade and increase LNG imports from the U.S. by one-third to reduce trade deficit. Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te has pledged to seek a zero tariff regime with the U.S. and not retaliate to U.S. tariffs, which were recently put on hold by President Donald Trump.
