💨 Abstract

Taiwan is bracing for Typhoon Krathon, a weakening category 2 storm, which has already caused two fatalities. The typhoon is expected to make landfall at the major port city of Kaohsiung around midday, with warnings of torrential rain and storm surges along the coast. The island has shut down for a second day, with hundreds of flights cancelled and financial markets closed.
