Tibetan lawmakers in exile have criticized China for imposing sanctions on Canadian civil society organizations and individuals, including the Canada Tibet Committee and Uyghur rights advocacy project. The sanctions, which target 20 individuals associated with the organizations, are seen as an extension of Chinese policies beyond their territories and a threat to free democracies.
