💨 Abstract
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced it was withdrawing its remaining forces from Yemen after Saudi Arabia demanded their departure within 24 hours. This move follows an airstrike by Saudi-led coalition forces on a UAE-linked weapons shipment in the Yemeni port of Mukalla, marking a significant escalation in tensions between the two Gulf nations. The UAE had been supporting Yemen’s separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC), while Saudi Arabia backs the internationally recognized government.
