💨 Abstract

The UK and Mauritius have reached a historic political agreement over the Chagos Archipelago, including Diego Garcia. The UK will cede sovereignty to Mauritius, allowing displaced people to return home, while retaining use of the strategic military base. The UK will also provide financial support to Mauritius and cooperate on various issues, including maritime security and environmental protection.
