💨 Abstract
The UK's Conservative Party elected Kemi Badenoch as its new leader, making history as the first Black woman to head a major political party in the UK. Badenoch, a former business secretary, succeeded Rishi Sunak, who led the party during its worst electoral performance since 1832. Badenoch won against Robert Jenrick in a vote involving over 100,000 party members.
