💨 Abstract

Ukrainian forces have retreated from Siversk in eastern Ukraine due to Russian numerical superiority and harsh weather conditions. This withdrawal brings Russian troops closer to the strategic city of Sloviansk, part of Ukraine's defensive "fortress belt" in the Donbas region. Ukraine acknowledges the retreat to preserve lives and resources, while continuing to inflict losses on Russian forces. Despite Russia's earlier claim of capturing Siversk, Ukraine maintains it is still contesting the area.
