💨 Abstract
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that any attacks against UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon by Israeli forces may constitute a war crime. The warning came after Israeli tanks breached a UN peacekeeping base, with UNIFIL peacekeepers remaining in their positions. Guterres reiterated that UNIFIL personnel and premises must not be targeted, as attacks against peacekeepers breach international law and may be considered a war crime.
