💨 Abstract

Indian-American lawmaker Ro Khanna condemned the lynching of a Hindu garment worker, Dipu Chandra Das, in Bangladesh over alleged blasphemy. Das was killed and his body burned by a mob. Khanna urged global condemnation of such hate crimes. The UN also expressed concern over recent violence in Bangladesh, emphasizing the need for safety for all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliation. About 12 people have been arrested in connection with Das's murder.
