💨 Abstract

The former Indian Ambassador to the US, Meera Shankar, praised the Quad leaders' decision to expand the maritime domain awareness program to the Indian Ocean, citing Chinese military incursions in the region. She also asserted that Quad is a permanent entity and not a temporary phenomenon. Quad announced a new regional Maritime Initiative for Training in the Indo-Pacific (MAITRI) to enhance partners' ability to monitor and secure their waters.
