💨 Abstract

Former Indian Ambassador to the US, Meera Shankar, praised the decision by Quad leaders to expand the maritime domain awareness program to the Indian Ocean, expressing concern over increased Chinese military activity in the region. Shankar also asserted that Quad is a permanent initiative, not a temporary phenomenon. The leaders also announced a new maritime training initiative and a legal dialogue to support the rules-based maritime order in the Indo-Pacific.
