💨 Abstract
Russia has claimed to have captured the town of Kurakhove, 32 km south of Pokrovsk in Ukraine's Donetsk region, while fending off a new Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk region of western Russia. The Ukrainian monitoring group, DeepState, shows most of Kurakhove under Russian control. Both sides are fighting to improve their positions before U.S. President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
