💨 Abstract
A seven-year study in South Africa's Kruger National Park found that dehorning rhinos reduced poaching by nearly 80%. This method was significantly cheaper than other anti-poaching measures like deploying rangers. The study, published in the journal Science, involved dehorning 2,284 rhinos, which cost 1.2% of the budget spent on traditional law enforcement.
