💨 Abstract
A venomous yellow-bellied sea snake was rescued from a beach in Dana Bay, Mossel Bay, South Africa, and released back into the ocean. This species is usually found in tropical oceanic waters worldwide, except for the Atlantic Ocean. However, 80% of the 35 yellow-bellied sea snakes discovered on South African beaches this year have died within 24 hours of rescue.
