💨 Abstract
In August 2025, South Africa's annual consumer price inflation decreased to 3.3%, down from 3.5% in July, providing some economic relief to consumers. This drop was primarily due to lower food and fuel prices. Food prices, particularly for cereals, dairy, and vegetables, saw significant annual declines, with staples like potatoes and eggs showing notable reductions. Fuel inflation also decreased, with inland petrol prices falling by 28 cents per litre.
