Stephen Colbert's first broadcast after the cancellation of "The Late Show" saw him delivering a strong message to former U.S. President Donald Trump. Colbert suggested that the show's cancellation by CBS was politically motivated, particularly because of his criticism of Trump. Colbert's cold open addressed Trump's controversial statements, maintaining his signature blend of humor and sharp commentary. Outside the theater, protesters supported Colbert against what they saw as CBS's bowing to political pressure.
