💨 Abstract

Police in Johannesburg seized illegal electronic devices worth over R17 million in a Fordsburg raid, including unapproved iPhones, Samsung phones, and accessories. The operation, led by a multidisciplinary team including SAPS and ICASA, targeted non-type-approved devices violating the Customs and Excise Act and Electronic Communications Act. Over 1,000 devices were confiscated and sent for further analysis. The raid is part of a crackdown on illegal imports.
