💨 Abstract

In 2025, SASSA may deny grants for several reasons, including incomplete or inaccurate applications, unverified ID numbers, undetected alternative income, eligibility discrepancies due to age or nationality, suspecting of fraud, and government employees receiving grants. Beneficiaries can check the reason for denial online and have 90 days to appeal if needed. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is implementing stricter rules to prevent fraud and corruption.
