💨 Abstract
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has denied reports of mass grant cancellations, stating that grants are only delayed during the review process. CEO Temba Matlou defended the new review processes, asserting they aim to ensure eligibility and prevent misuse of funds. However, the process has caused backlogs due to a surge in beneficiaries visiting offices. Beneficiaries are advised to bring necessary documents for reviews. SASSA acknowledges the need to increase office capacity to handle the influx.
