đź’¨ Abstract

South Africa's major cities have rich histories and symbolic names. Bloemfontein, known as "The City of Roses," gets its name from Dutch words meaning "flower" and "fountain," reflecting its botanical richness. Cape Town, famous for its natural beauty, was named after the Cape of Good Hope by Portuguese explorers. Durban, a multicultural coastal city, was initially Port Natal and later renamed for Sir Benjamin D’Urban.
