💨 Abstract
A former Gupta-owned property in Saxonworld, Johannesburg, was sold at auction for R3.3 million, roughly half its initial price of R5 million. The property, used for staff accommodation, received only one bid. Meanwhile, two other Gupta properties—an eight-bedroom mansion and a 17-bedroom estate—did not receive any bids due to high municipal rates, structural damage, and the stigma associated with the Gupta name. Their contents were sold for minimal amounts.
